Portrait Studio Marketing

Marketing Resources for the Portrait Photographer

Speaking and Programs

Our industry today is an interesting mix of some experienced studios and masses of new photographers.

The existing studios are finding that the marketing they used for years is no longer effective in light of all that is new, and the amazing amount of new competition. Bookings are down, and the customers that do come in are no longer satisfied with that which they loved before.

The new photographers are too frequently baffled by all this business stuff. They got into this to create “perty pitchures”, and find that they now need business plans, budgets, marketing plans and all those “boring things that take time away from their camera.

Trouble is, if they can’t do these things, all too frequently the camera sits idly by, waiting for customers to come in the door. Sitting and waiting…..waiting….waiting…

It doesn’t matter how great an artist you might be; if you can’t run a business and you can’t market, you’re destined to join the ranks of the starving artists.

That’s what PSM is all about. Spreading the word. It’s not a “buy my package, one size fits all” approach, but dedicated to teaching the skills and providing the knowledge that we all need to not just survive, but flourish in the new world of portrait photography.

It’s about spreading passion about marketing and business and making photographers as excited about this area are they are about  photography.

And that’s what my programs are all about – instilling both the passion and the knowledge.

If you’re looking for lively, fun, yet informative programs, guaranteed to get the members of your association THINKING and EXCITED, then give me a call – 503-588-0902, or email me at fred@portraitstudiomarketing.com.

Currently we offer a 2 hour and a 4 hour program, each of which is constantly changing, and can be customized to meet the needs of your audience.

I don’t yet have any materials I’m selling, although at some time in the future, there are plans for a marketing manual that’s actually fun to read.

Fees are negotiable, but I’m concentrating on PPA affilliated groups right now for the speaking merits.
